Introducing Alia: Meet Oxy's AI Assistant

Introducing Alia: Meet Oxy's AI Assistant

Introducing Alia: Meet Oxy's AI Assistant

A New Chapter for Oxy

Today, we're excited to announce the launch of Alia — Oxy's AI assistant, now live at alia.onl. Alia represents our vision for what artificial intelligence should be: powerful, intuitive, and deeply human.

In a world where AI assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini have become part of daily life, we asked ourselves a simple question: what would an AI assistant look like if it were built with people — not just technology — at its core? Alia is our answer.

What Is Alia?

Alia is a conversational AI assistant that you can talk to just like you would with ChatGPT or Gemini. Ask questions, brainstorm ideas, get help with writing, research topics, or simply have a conversation. But Alia goes further than just answering questions — it's designed to understand context, connect with you naturally, and become a genuine part of your daily workflow.

At its heart, Alia is built around the idea that AI should feel less like a machine and more like a thoughtful companion. We've focused on creating natural conversational flows that adapt to how you communicate, not the other way around.

Telegram Integration

One of the features we're most excited about is Alia's Telegram integration. Link your Telegram account to Alia, and the assistant can send you messages directly through Telegram. This means Alia isn't just waiting for you to come to it — it can reach out to you where you already are.

Whether it's reminders, follow-ups, or proactive updates, the Telegram connection makes Alia a truly connected assistant that fits into your existing communication habits. No need to check another app or remember to log in — Alia meets you where you are.

Codea: AI-Powered Coding

For developers, we built Codea — Alia's dedicated coding model. Codea isn't just a feature within Alia; it's a full-fledged AI coding assistant with its own Visual Studio Code extension available on the VS Code Marketplace.

With the Codea extension, you get AI assistance right inside your editor — chat with AI about your code in real-time, get inline code completions, generate commit messages, and even resolve merge conflicts with AI help. Just press Ctrl+Shift+A (or Cmd+Shift+A on Mac) to open Codea Chat and start coding smarter.

Codea offers multiple model tiers to fit different needs:

  • Alia Lite — Fast responses for quick questions

  • Alia V1 — Balanced performance for everyday coding

  • Alia V1 Codea — Optimized specifically for code tasks

  • Alia V1 Pro — High-quality responses for complex problems

  • Alia V1 Pro Max — The best available model for critical tasks

The extension also integrates natively with VS Code's chat system — just type @codea in VS Code chat to get help. It's open source under the MIT license, and you can find it on GitHub.

The Future: A Fully Autonomous AI

What you see today is just the beginning. Our vision for Alia goes far beyond a conversational assistant — we're building toward a fully autonomous AI that doesn't just respond to your requests, but actively works on your behalf.

Imagine an AI that manages your tasks while you sleep, reaches out to you naturally through the app or Telegram when something needs your attention, and handles complex workflows entirely on its own. That's where Alia is headed.

Here's what's on the roadmap:

  • Autonomous Agents — Alia will be able to take on tasks independently, breaking down complex goals into steps and executing them without needing constant direction. Think of it as having a tireless teammate who gets things done proactively.

  • Roles & Personas — Configure Alia to take on specific roles tailored to your needs. Whether you need a research assistant, a project manager, a writing editor, or a customer support agent, Alia can adapt its behavior and expertise to match.

  • MCP Integrations — Through the Model Context Protocol, Alia will connect to external tools and services seamlessly. This means Alia won't be limited to conversation — it will be able to interact with your apps, databases, APIs, and workflows directly.

  • Automations — Set up triggers and workflows that Alia runs automatically. From scheduling and data processing to monitoring and reporting, Alia will handle repetitive tasks so you can focus on what matters.

  • Natural Proactive Communication — Alia won't just wait for you to ask. Through Telegram and the Alia app, it will reach out to you conversationally — giving you updates, asking for decisions when needed, and keeping you in the loop in a way that feels natural, not robotic.

The goal is simple: Alia should feel like having a brilliant, always-available collaborator who understands your world and takes meaningful action in it. Not a tool you use, but a partner that works alongside you.

Why Alia?

At Oxy, we believe technology should serve people — not the other way around. Alia is an extension of that philosophy. While other AI assistants focus purely on capability, we've put equal emphasis on the experience of using AI. The result is an assistant that's not only smart but also feels approachable and genuinely helpful.

We're building Alia to be the AI assistant we always wished existed — one that truly understands what it means to be helpful, that acts on your behalf, and that communicates with you like a real person would. The launch today is the foundation, and everything we build from here moves toward that vision of full autonomy.
